2023 Swim Season is right around the corner
April 10th
Hello Parents –
We hope you are excited for another great swim season. We have a number of things happening this week and we need your help:
April 12th – Information night / Parent meeting
- Meeting starts at 7pm
- Koelbel Library – Meeting Room A
- Meeting is not mandatory. This is simply a chance to ask questions about the upcoming season
April 16th – Registration opens
- Registration opens at 8am
- Please spread the word. There have been a lot of new families moving into the Preserve over the last couple of years. Please talk to your neighbors about this is FUN, APPROACHABLE and RELAXED way to get to know others in the community (kids and adults)
- We are asking parents to donate to the concession for our home meets (candy, water, soda, ramen, sport drinks - Prime would be a huge bonus. If you don’t about Prime, ask your kids!)
- Parents will need to sign up for 2 volunteer shifts per child (1 kid = 2 shifts, 2 kids = 4 shifts, 3 kids = 6 shifts). If you have a lot of kids involved in swimming (2 or more), see below for a volunteer role that could reduce the total # of shifts you need to fill
Volunteer NEED: Stroke Judges
- We are looking for parents that want to be Stroke Judges this year
- Stroke judges are a critical role to every meet and we will not be able to participate in meets without them
- There is some mandatory training involved (new judges only). Here is the link for training to see what it entails (https://rmsl.swimtopia.com/training-clinics). Several parents became stroke judges last year and found the training and role “easier than most other volunteer roles and very helpful in trying to explain to my own kids how they can improve their swimming"
- We are looking for 8 stroke judges in total which will likely mean about 4 shifts for the year. If you have 3 kids swimming, this is an easy way to get out of 2 volunteer shifts!!! (as noted above)
- If interested, please reach out to Nicholas Lakas ([email protected] or 720-550-0981 (mobile)) ASAP!
We look forward to a great swim season. Go Piranhas! Piranha POWER!
