Practice Cancellation Policy (Due to Weather)

Practice will be cancelled if the following conditions occur:

1. If there is lightning and audible thunder in the vicinity

2. If there is rain

3. If a Thunderstorm/Tornado WARNING is issued for western or central Arapahoe County*
* Practice will still be held if a Thunderstorm/Tornado WATCH is in effect. Watches DO NOT mean there is an imminent weather threat, just that there is the possibility.

Practice may be moved to dry land if the following conditions occur:

1. If the pool temperature is below 75 degrees

2. If the outside temperature is below 55 degrees (RMSL guidelines)

Avery
Avery Tacha Co-Head Coach

Hi! My name is Avery Tacha, and I’ll be a senior at Arapahoe High School this coming year. I’m thrilled to be returning for my fourth season coaching the Preserve Piranhas—this time as a co-head coach! I’ve been part of the Piranha family for the past eight years, and I’ve loved every moment of it. Swimming has been a passion of mine since I was little, and some of my favorite childhood memories come from early morning practices, cheering at meets with my teammates, and celebrating big wins at the banquet. The Preserve Piranhas have always felt like a second family to me. Working with the kids has been such a rewarding experience, and I can’t wait to meet all the new swimmers and families joining us this summer! In addition to summer swimming, I swim year-round with my club team, Aces, and compete for the Varsity Arapahoe High School swim team. My favorite events are the 50 free, 100 back, 100 free, and 200 free. When I’m not in the pool, you’ll probably find me hanging out with friends or soaking up the sun. I’m so excited about the 2025 season—it will be a blast, and I hope you’re just as enthusiastic as I am!

Teddy
Teddy O'Keefe Co-Head Coach

Hi Preserve! I’ve been swimming for the Piranhas for over a decade now, and I am thrilled to be returning for my third year of coaching. I’ve always been passionate about swimming, and I have experience swimming for the Greenwood Tiger Sharks. Aside from swimming, I’ve also explored water polo and running. This fall, I’ll be a junior at Regis Jesuit High School, where I run year-round and help with sound for the theater program. I look forward to a fantastic, fun season with everyone this summer. Go Piranhas!

So
Soraya Nadji Junior Coach

My name is Soraya Nadji, and I will be a sophomore at Kent Denver High School next year. Swimming has been a huge part of my life since I was 6 years old when I first joined the Preserve Piranhas swim team! I’ve loved every minute of being part of this amazing team and have continued to swim competitively with both the Tiger Sharks and the Kent Denver High School swim team. The thrill of competition and the drive to improve every day keeps me motivated in the pool. Outside of swimming, I have a strong passion for tennis. Tennis keeps me active and engaged, whether I'm practicing or competing in a match. In addition to sports, I love to travel, explore new places, and spend quality time with my family and friends. These moments are precious to me and always help me feel more energized. This summer, I’m excited to take on the role of Junior Coach with the Preserve Piranhas. It’s a great opportunity to give back to the team that’s meant so much to me, and I’m looking forward to mentoring younger swimmers, helping them improve their skills, and making this summer one to remember. I’m excited for the season ahead and all the opportunities it will bring!
