Welcome to the Preserve!
Hello and welcome to The Preserve!
We are so excited that you all will be joining us this year. My name is Joy Graziano, and this year I will be co-head coaching with Alana Maxey.
This will be my second-year head coaching here with the Piranhas along with Alana's first year, and we could not be more excited. We had an amazing season last year, placing first within the RMSL C League division and plenty of other individual and relay awards. Stop by the trophy case at the pool and take a look at all our new awards!
I am an aspiring sophomore at the University of North Texas where I am continuing my academic career in logistics and supply chain management along with my athletic career on the UNT women's swim team. I have been a member the Piranhas and Greenwood Tiger Sharks swim team since I was nine years old, and I am happy to continue the tradition.
This will be Alana's sixth year coaching Piranhas and she is beyond excited to see what we can accomplish this season. Next year she will be a senior at Cherry Creek High School where she is continuing her academic career in all subjects along with athletic career on the CCHS Varsity swim team. She has been a Piranha since she was four years old and currently swims for Aquawolves where she continues to showcase her Piranha roots. She is currently undecided on a college.
Alana will be taking the reins this year with the team and will supervise the coaches and athletes for any assistance that they might need. If you have any questions regarding communication, meet setup, and relay generation please send them over to me.
This year, we have a strong staff that is dedicated to creating an environment where swimmers of all ages can gain confidence, learn new skills, and improve their abilities. You can find their bios and pictures under the "Coaches" tab on the website for more information.
As a reminder, the kickoff practice and Kona Ice truck will take place May 22nd from 430-630 as we welcome everyone back to the pool. All ages are welcome to join, including the Junior Piranhas. Below are the afternoon practice times:
Ages 8 and under: 430-530pm
Ages 9 and up: 530-630pm
There will be an email sent out to the JP families briefly with more information on that program.
We will be hosting afternoon practices until May 29th. Our intrasquad meet will take place May 31st as a refresher to those who have attended a meet before as well as a practice for those who haven't and an opportunity for the team to practice running a meet.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me, Coach Alana, or the Preserve Swim Team Board. Contact information can be found under the "Contact Us" tab on the website.
Again, thank you so much and we look forward to the start of an incredible season!
