Meet Coach Emily Altier!

We’re thrilled to welcome Coach Emily Altier to the Piranhas swim community! Since moving to Colorado in January 2020, Coach E has quickly become a respected leader on deck, bringing experience, passion, and energy to the sport.

This season, she will play a supporting role in mentoring our awesome Piranhas coaches, while also leading Stroke School each Monday throughout the month of June.

Coach E has spent the past six years leading the Colorado Stingrays as Head Coach, where she also coaches many of our Piranhas year-round. Under her leadership, the Stingrays have earned recognition as a Top 4 Age Group Small Division Team in Colorado for three consecutive years and have produced numerous Junior National, Futures, Sectionals, and Western Zone qualifiers.

Coach E’s coaching philosophy centers around quality and simplicity in swimming, while fostering an environment built on encouragement, love, hard work, and fun.

Her own competitive swimming career culminated at Niagara University, where she competed as a Division I distance freestyler and remains ranked among the Top 10 in school history in the 500, 1000, and 1650 freestyle events.

After graduating, she worked as an NCAA accountant before following her passion into full-time coaching, with stops at Wellesley College, Harvard University, and Northeastern University while earning her Master’s in Education from Endicott College. She later coached with the nationally recognized Ridgefield Aquatic Club alongside nationally ranked USA Swimming coach Emmanuel Lanzo.

Coach E will also be available for private swim lessons and can be contacted directly at [email protected].

We’re excited to have her sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm with our coaches and swimmers this summer!
